Health Information Coordinator (Full-Time; Exempt) 07/20/11
Oversees, coordinates, and implements medical record programs for multiple long-term care facilities. Establishes and maintains policies and procedures for programs. Audits programs and records and ensures compliance with federal & state laws/regulations.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), recognized by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), designation required.
-Certified Coding Associate (CCA) designation required.
-Graduate of an approved course for Health Information Management.
-Advanced medical terminology, coding, and auditing skills and experience required.
-Knowledge of basic personal computer skills and software applications (spread sheets and word processing).
-Current physical and tuberculosis clearance.
-U.S. citizen, lawful permanent alien resident or alien authorized to work for specified time by U.S. Department of Justice.
-Transportation throughout various locations required.
- DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum three (3) years prior health information experience in long term care or health care preferred.
-Ability to type 45 words/minute preferred.
-Familiarity with MDS/RAI preferred.
